Oftentimes, when a video game comes out, there is a fair amount of marketing involved. For example, when a new Pokemon game is on the horizon, it’s well-known and anticipated. Sometimes, a video game comes out with less fanfare, or it just flies under the radar for a while.

Here, we are going to take a look at some amazing games that no one has played. Of course, you may have played one (or all!) of these games, but in general, they aren’t as well-known as you would like them to be. If you haven’t played any of these titles, we highly recommend checking them out!

Icey has over 24,000 reviews on Steam, but why do I never see anyone talking about this game? This 2D side-scrolling game follows Icey and a narrator who instructs her on what to do. If you are familiar with The Stanley Parable, then this game is similar.

For a small game, Icey really packs a punch. The combat isn’t exceptional, but the story more than makes up for this. Without spoiling too much, just know that the game involves some Lovecraftian concepts that may appeal to fans of the genre.

If I could tell every person I encounter about Gravity Rush, I would. Don’t get us wrong; these games are popular, but they could be so much more. Gravity Rush is a two-game series that follows Kat, who lost her memory and happens to be able to manipulate gravity.

Gravity Rush was directed by Keiichiro Toyama, who happened to create Silent Hill. Don’t worry; Gravity Rush isn’t scary.

This gravity-manipulation mechanic is phenomenal. It’s so satisfying to run on the ground, and then tweak gravity so you’re running along the ceiling. You can also just make Kat fly sideways across the city at full speed. The story of both games is great, but it’s just a shame that both games are only on PlayStation 4.

When you hear the name Supergiant Games, what do you think? You most likely thought of Hades and its sequel, but Supergiant Games has also brought us Transistor. This game follows Red, traveling through a futuristic city filled with robotic enemies.

The gameplay of Transistor is so smooth; I am a huge fan of the “Turn()”, system, which lets you freeze time and plan out your moves, before resuming time and acting on the plan. The story of Transistor is also phenomenal andmay even leave you shedding a tear or two.

If you are a big fan of ARPGs, then you may have already heard of Grim Dawn. If not, allow us to introduce you to this hidden gem. Grim Dawn really has it all; great atmosphere, use classes, satisfying combat, and cool lore.

If you like Path of Exile but feel like it’s a bit too complicated at times, then we definitely suggest giving Grim Dawn a try.

The class system in Grim Dawn is incredibly unique. At the start, you’ll pick a class (mastery), such as Soldier. Eventually though, you’ll be able to choose a second mastery that changes your overall class. For example, if you choose Arcanist with Soldier, you’ll become a Battlemage. The official Grim Dawn website hasa chart showing all combinations.

Imagine if there was one game that contained 50 games within it. This is exactly what UFO 50 is! Inside, you’ll find 50 arcade games, with some of them being quite in-depth. Interestingly, UFO 50 was made by six developers over several years.

These aren’t just simple arcade game; many prove to be rather difficult. If you beat the associated win condition, you’ll “cherry” it. Once you’ve done this, move on to another game and try to get another cherry!

A quick glance at Loop Hero art will show you some seriously amazing pixel art. If you are a fan of games like Slay the Spire (which also deserves more recognition!), then you’ll love Loop Hero. This is a roguelike deckbuilding game taking place in a time loop.

Although Loop Hero may be difficult to get the hang of at first, you’ll get hooked into the loop in no time. Loop Hero can be deep and complicated, but you can also play it casually if you want to sit back and relax.

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy came out in April 2025, so it hasn’t been out for as long as some other games on our list. Still, there isn’t much talk of it online, even though it was created by the minds behindthe Zero Escape trilogy and Danganronpa(both of which are phenomenal franchises).

This game is absolutely packed with content. You are looking at dozens of hours worth of stuff to play through. I beat the main route in around 35 hours, but this was just scratching the surface. We won’t spoil anything, but just know that the game supposedly has 100 different endings.

Rhythm game lovers rejoice, you can play Sayonara Wild Hearts! This game has it all: music, neon colors, motorcycles, and heartbreak. There are also Tarot cards thrown into the mix, making for a wonderful experience.

Everything about Sayonara Wild Hearts is beautiful. If you want a meaningful story, animmersive audiovisual experience, or just a fun game to play, Sayonara Wild Hearts is perfect for you. The use of Major Arcana works in the game’s favor, giving it a magical feel.

Last but not least, we have Broken Age. This is a unique point-and-click adventure that follows two people; Vella and Shay. Rather than being together, they are found in two different worlds. You’ll be able to switch between these two characters and play their story.

Broken Age is filled with a great story, amazing art, satisfying puzzles, and voices from people like Elijah Wood, Jack Black, and Wil Wheaton. This is the type of game that we really suggest you play without knowing anything about the story. Overall though, you are in for a wonderful experience.
