Summary
Whenever you open up a box ofYu-Gi-Oh!cards, the first thing you think about is what two secret rares you’re going to pull. Most boxes contain two unless you’re really unlucky. However, ultra rares are just as important and can be equally hard to find once enough time passes. With holographic card art and golden text, these are as premium as they get before you start hitting that secret rare stash.
Alliance Insight contains 14 different ultra rare cards for you to pull. A few are must-haves for some of the best decks of the set, while others resurrect fan-favorite archetypes from the distant past. So let’s take a closer look.
14Number 69: Heraldry Crest - Dark Matter Demolition
Scrubbing Out Names
Number 69: Heraldry Crest has an interesting form of negating cards. Rather than the traditional form of negate, it removes the names of cards and replaces it with Unknown. So if a deck needs a specific card name on the field, suddenly the scrubbed card doesn’t work.
The biggest downside is that it needs five level four monsters to Summon. Unless you cheese it out some way, it feels like a bit of a hassle even with the negate.
13Juraishin, The Cursed Thunder God
Your Choice Of Destruction
Juraishin, The Cursed Thunder God has two different things it can do on top of recovering your life points. you may tribute this card to destroy your opponent’s face-up Spells and Traps, or their face-up monsters.
This card’s only downside is that 11 is such an odd number for a Synchro. One archetype in particular, though, that could use it is the P.U.N.K deck, which has numbers that can add up to the needed 11.
12Disaster, Dragon Ruler Of All Apocalypses
Banishes All Of Your Opponent’s Monsters
This Dragon Ruler can have 4,600 attack, can become unaffected by card effects, and banishes all of your opponent’s monsters from the field or graveyard. So why is it not immediately the best ultra rare?
This is still a very difficult card to Summon and requires you to run multiple Dragon Rulers. It also doesn’t do much going first, since your opponent won’t have much in their graveyard or field to begin with.
11Snake-Eyes Vengeance Dragon
Multiple Card Destructions And Removal
The Snake-Eyes archetype is known for shoving monsters into the Spell and Trap card zone a.k.a the Backrooms of Yu-Gi-Oh!. During the Battle Phase, you can use it to destroy monsters and Continuous Spell.
This is somewhat flexible since the requirements are generic and the card doesn’t specify who needs to own the cards targeted by the effects. However, there are better cards that do more than just pop other cards.
10Fallen Angel Of The Golden Land
The Golden Lord Returns
Fallen Angel of the Golden Land is a Fusion Monster with multiple ways of being Summoned. Sure, you may use the basic materials of a Golden Lord and a Zombie using Polymerization, but that’s just one option.
You can use it as a Super Poly target while Zombie World is active, or treat it like a pseudo Link-1 for your Light Zombies. When it leaves the field and hits the grave, you can cheat out any other Eldlitch monster from anywhere but the banish pile.
9Regenesis Lord
Searching For Regenesis Cards
There are two Regenesis monsters to be found in the ultra rare pile. One is Regenesis Lord, which can banish a monster with 2,500 attack and defense from the field to bring itself out. Once Summoned, it allows you to set a Regenesis Spell or Trap straight from your deck.
This can be useful for getting the cards you need on the field without necessarily adding them to your hand.
8Regenesis Sage
A Powerful Omni Negate
Out of the two Regenesis monsters in the ultra rare pile, Regenesis Sage is the better card. This is because it doesn’t banish a card toSpecial Summon itself. All it needs is a card with either 2,500 attack or defense to come out for free.
Additionally, this card acts as an omni negate if you have another Regenesis card in your hand or on the field to send to the graveyard for cost. It also comes back to the hand easily if sent to the graveyard.
7Cyberdark Wurm
A Stealthy Cyber Dragon Support
Cyber Dragons keep getting their stealth support. Cyberdark Wurm becomes a Cyber Dragon in name whenever it’s on the field or the graveyard.
This card can discard itself to send a Cyber Dragon from the deck to the graveyard to Special Summon itself and get you a Spell or Trap search. This card does so much, the effect can only be used once per duel.
6Nebulus, Dragon Ruler Of Mishaps
A Dark Dragon Hatchling
Dragon Rulers are known for coming in almost every single attribute except Light and Dark. That changes with Alliance Insight. Nebulous, Dragon Ruler of Mishaps can Special Summoned two banished Dragon Rulers by discarding itself and a Dark or Dragon monster.
This card is good for setting up its larger counterpart by getting the materials it needs on the field. It can also revive the larger version of itself from the graveyard when needed.
5Eclipse, Dragon Ruler Of Catastrophes
Special Summons And A Negate
Nebulus’s larger counterpart is Eclipse, Dragon Ruler of Catastrophes. This rank seven monster can be brought out with two level seven monsters. While on the field, it acts as an extender by allowing you to Special Summon more Dragon Rulers from the deck or banishment.
It also acts as a Spell and Trap negate while on the field. This makes it a powerful endboard piece to have when it’s time to pass the turn over to your opponent.
