Increasing your skills inThe Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remasteredwill be your first step to becoming the true Hero of Cyrodiil. However, every great hero had a great teacher, and if you want to become a hero worth writing legends about, you’ll want to find your own legendary tutor.

Not all tutors are created equal, however, and some are a little harder to find than others. Your key to success will be tracking down these teachers and deciding for yourself the best order to approach them. Thankfully, this guide will help you make those decisions with a little less headache and, hopefully, with a little more coin in your purse at the end.

Ida Vlinorman offers to train the player in Acrobatics in Oblivion Remastered.

What Are Skill Trainers?

Skill trainers are individuals who canadvance your proficiencyin a particular skill.

Theyrequire a hefty sum of gold based on your current skill levelfor each of their lessons, and you canreceive a lesson from one trainer up to five times per level.

Player highlights the training button with Restoration Trainer Marz in Oblivion Remastered.

Trainers aredivided into three categories:

Master-level trainers require you tospeak with at least one Advanced trainer(with some exceptions) after reaching Level 70 in a skill.

By speaking with an Advanced trainer, they will give you a questto seek out the Master. Only then will the Master’s training be available to you.

Player tries to purchase trainers from Dahlia Rackham for Dunbarrow Cove in Oblivion Remastered.

You can see a trainer’s ability to teach by looking in the bottom left corner of your screen, where an icon pictures someone meditating. If that option is unavailable to you, it might mean that you have not completed a quest to unlock this character, you have used all five instances of training, or your skill level is too high to train with them.

All Skill Trainer Locations

Below are all the available skill trainersone can find in the Empire, sorted by their teaching subject.

However, there aretwo special types of trainerswith special indications:

Knights of the Nine Trainers

These trainers are not available until the expansion’s quests have progressed. These trainers are primarily found in Great Chapels. Trainers with this special designation will be given the marking: **.

Dunbarrow Cove Trainers

These trainers must be purchased from Dahlia Rackham on the Sea Tub Clarabella in Anvil’s harbor. Before they are available for purchase, you must have visited and cleared out Dunbarrow Cove. A quest will appear to signify the trainers' availability. Trainers with this special designation will be given the marking: ***.

The trainers are also unique in that they are all Advanced trainers who have the special ability to train up to Level 75 instead of 70.
