Wolfensteinis getting a TV show, withAmazonhelming yet another video game adaptation. It’s in the hands of Kilter Films, the studio owned by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, who produced Amazon’sFalloutshow.
These details are being reported byVariety, but there’s not a whole lot else to know about the show right now. One thing that has been nailed down, though, is the logline: “The story of killing Nazis is evergreen.” Nice.
A Wolfenstein Show Is Coming To Prime Video With The Same Producers As Fallout
According to Variety, writer Patrick Somerville will serve as showrunner, while Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy will return from Fallout as executive producers. This makes sense, sinceBethesdapublishes games in bot the Fallout and Wolfenstein series, so this crew has worked with the game studio before.
Much like we saw with Fallout, the Wolfenstein show is said to be bringing in guidance from the game developers. Jerk Gustafsson from Machine Games will apparently come in as an executive producer, which is off the back of directing games such as Wolfenstein: Youngblood and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
This is far from the only game adaptation that Amazon has in the works. As we’ve been reporting on recently, a Mass Effect show is on the way, also beingled by some of the producers who gave us Fallout. However, it does have its own set of writers, so we can likely expect a unique tone. There’s no release date for that just yet, and we don’t even know what the story will cover. There was a hint that itcould just be adapting the main trilogy, but it’s also possible that these plot details are a placeholder.
Aside from that, we’re also set to get a God of War series, which hasalready been greenlit for at least two seasons. This was given the go-ahead all the way back in 2022, so before Fallout, but it does seem like the latter’s success has encouraged Amazon to go all-in on gaming adaptations. It’s just like we saw with The Boys - when Amazon has something that works, it’ll keep it going.
