You’ll find a lot of different resources at GATE’s facility inAbiotic Factor, a number of which are liquids. You’ve got your standard water for drinking and cooking, different types of acid, radioactive waste, water full of alien fish, and the classic: Oil.

Oil can be used to make several helpful items, such as the Chopinator, which is fantastic for defending your base against marauding entities and hostile forces, or a cart to make hauling lots of heavy materials to and from different areas of the facility. Like everything else, you’ll need to pick through what’s left of GATE to find some Oil.

Where To Find Oil

Oil is akey resource in several crafting recipes, and while it can befound all over GATE’s various facilities, the mostcommon locationsyou’ll find some are theOffice Sectorand, to a lesser extent,Manufacturing West.

One of thebest places to consistently find Oilearly on is inBio Lab D on Level Twoof the Office Sector, as Oil frequently spawns not only on thecounters in the room, but alsoinside the cabinets on both sidesof the room.

Items will eventually stop respawning in a given area, outside of small random items on desks and shelves, unless you turn on Simple Loot Respawningin your world’s Sandbox settings.

Bio Lab D alsoconnects to the Locker Room, and Oil can befound inside the Lockersthere and sitting on the floornear the Lockers, ornext to the benches.

Alternatives To Oil

SinceOil and most other resourcesaren’t entirely renewable, since things in an area eventuallystop respawning normally, there are some ways toget alternate types of Oilthat work in the same way.

Fish Oil is the easiest renewable sourceof Oil, as it can beused in every recipe that needs Oil, and there isno limit on fish spawning or how many you can catch.
