Battlefield 6has officially been unveiled, and its multiplayer has been shown off for the world to see, with streamers and content creators all jumping into matches for first-hand demonstrations throughout the whole week.It looks like a pretty realistic return to form, especially since developer DICE has already stated thatit’s going to shy away from the goofy skin crossoversthat have infested modern shooters like Call of Duty these days.

Unfortunately, there is still one aspect of Battlefield 6 that fans don’t think is realistic enough, and that’s the game’s movement system. We all know first-person shooters love a good slide these days, thanks to games like Titanfall 2 paving the way, but having a soldier knee slide halfway across a street while shooting at enemies isn’t the most realistic thing in the world.

Battlefield 6 Fans Are Already Calling For Sliding To Be Nerfed

One particular clip went viral on the Battlefield 6 subreddit, shared by a user called Skeletor_with_Tacos, in which we see a player slide through a metal container to kill someone standing on the other side. This would be considered fairly normal in your standard first-person shooter, but Battlefield fans seem to universally agree that the distance covered by the slide is far too unrealistic.

In fact, one user called xLRG2TH3M4x would prefer that players not even be able to shoot during the slide, claiming that jumping and sliding “should only be used defensively”. A user called Icy-Implement-4070 even goes as far as calling this type of movement “cancer to the formula of Battlefield”, and it seems a lot of people think the jumping and sliding seen in the streamer build of the game leans far too much into Call of Duty territory.

Thankfully, this game is still being worked on, and doesn’t launch until October 10. If there are enough complaints surrounding the movement following these next few open beta weekends, there’s every chance DICE could tone things down to more realistic levels. In fact, those that participated in the Labs build of the game say that sliding was a lot better, so it’s possible DICE could just revert to an older version.
